I have been teaching in various formats for 26 years. I always feel so privileged to walk along individual students to help them reach new heights. I personalize each lesson to the individual and strategically plan the lesson in a way that best addresses my student's needs.

Bio
Life has been such a beautiful journey! God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and three amazing kids. We have lived in Texas, South Carolina, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and now we are in South Carolina again. We love being together and having adventures together. We love helping others. God has always been very faithful in leading us.

I have always loved learning and helping others develop a love of learning. Professionally, I have had various experiences to help me have multiple strategies to help individuals. I am a certified teacher with a master's degree. I have a reading specialization. I enjoyed teaching public school for 12 years. I have homeschooled my children in various contexts for 11 years. I have eight years of tutoring experience. For three years, I worked as an online ESL tutor with VIPKID. In 2020, I began Petro Academics, LLC to extend my teaching to online needs in more individualized ways. I look forward to seeing how I can help your students reach their academic goals.

I have been amazed at how teachers and parents strive to help their students meet their academic needs. At times, there is still a gap. Life happens, work needs to happen, and often it is difficult to get everything completed well. Struggling students need support. Excellent students need the challenge to spur their love of learning. Parents often need support. My goal is to help bridge the gap for the individual student to reach new levels.
